Chiddingstone Real Football Match – Friday 30 March

Now in its sixth year, the Chiddingstone Real Football match has become a staple feature of Good Friday with two teams of at least 100 competing in this no holds barred event. A mixture of football and rugby, the four-hour game sees the sides compete over fields, rivers and woodland with the aim of getting the ball to their respective goals at either end of the pitch. We’re thrilled to be hosting this year’s after-match party featuring a BBQ and live music – plus we will be staying open until midnight!
What’s happening throughout the day:
9am – Pub opens for breakfast
Two outside bars will be operating – one in front of the pub and one in our back garden.
12pm – 9/10pm – BBQ
2pm – Opening ceremony and parade
6pm onwards – Selection homemade curries
7pm – Raffle to be drawn at The Castle Inn
Live music in the marquee in our back garden:
5pm – 7pm – Charley Blue
7pm – 10.30pm – Victorious River Band
Bookings: please note that we will not be taking bookings or offering our normal menu on this day.
10% of all takings on the day will be donated to this year’s nominated local charities: Mind – West Kent; The League of Friends of Edenbridge Hospital; and Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance.
